National Consumer Councils join forces online

30th March 2000

A new site that pulls together the consumer council organisations of England, Scotland and Wales has been launched today. Designed by Keymedia Design, the design house responsible for both the English and Scottish Consumer Council sites, this new 'umbrella' site aims to provide a 'one-stop-shop' for consumers and press alike.

The UK's National Consumer Council represents the interests of all UK consumers, and is made up of three bodies: the National Consumer Council (covering England), Scottish Consumer Council (representing Scotland) and Welsh Consumer Council (for Wales). All three councils have a special brief to represent the interests of disadvantaged consumers - those on low incomes for instance, and elderly and disabled people.

The site forms part of the consumer councils' continuing efforts towards 'strengthening connections' between consumers and the councils and to ensure that the councils' corporate communications and identity make the appropriate impact.

Keymedia Design has a long-standing relationship with the National Consumer Council, having designed, built and maintained websites for them for the last three years.
